This is definitely where men and women differ. Again, 70% of divorces are initiated by women. Women have decided they are not taking the bar minimum or living in an unhappy marriage. If their husbands are unwilling to work to create a more satisfying marriage for BOTH people involved, the woman will walk. This has little to do with money. Again, it’s not the money grab.

However, you had an opportunity MANY years ago to revisit the conversation, note that your wife is not holding her end of the bargain, and work to make it right. If she refuses, you can always leave. You could have left. You did not. You allowed it to continue, and now you are in a marriage (or maybe finally divorcing) and feel stuck.

So, you allowed her to make that choice. You also, I’m sure, had no problem letting her attend to the kids when they needed someone. She did her labor, too.
