Thank you for saying this. I am on dating apps and I very frewuently see men flash high dollar items in their profiles - boats, motorcycles, cars, clothes, etc. Many times they flat out brag about what they can afford. I will swipe left on these men every single tie and I do not care how attractive they are (and they are often very attractive as well).
When men lead with materialism and money, it signals to women that that is the value they bring. Their money is the high point in dating them. This means that other real stuff - partnership, communication, effort, emotional availablity - is not as important of a focus as status.
I'd rather date the emotional available guy with the 10 year old Toyota.
