My greatest concern right now is that I remember what if was like three for years ago before read time was the big deciding factor for payment. Pay based on claps and engagement resulted in "clap factories" where people posted stories in FB groups and just spent a minute highlighting and clapping for others in the group so people made money. It was pretty sad. People who did not prescribe to the clap for claps mentality lost out.
