It’s interesting because when I started doing this, my first fear was that people (namely men) might see my close proximity to them as an invitation or an implied interest. It’s hard to grapple with. So far, no one has been unkind or creepy. I have also found that, in most cases, I’m in an incredibly controlled environment where any untoward behavior could be handled pretty easy.
