Huh. That’s interesting that the Medium folks found your comment against veganism out of line. It sure must have had A LOT of people reporting it. Because I, as one person and the author of the piece that was commented on, reported a comment that I should consider being date raped a privilege and no one did anything. So, criticizing veganism = Medium intervention. Promoting date rape = permissable. Good to know.

David, I don’t mean to insult your intelligence. I have read your stuff and I know you have some smarts. But, there is a common thread here: Disagree with certain people and you will be publicly shamed, have a large group of people seek to report you, an army of people mobilized to go after you, ban you, demonize you and misrepresent your words.

The “tone it down” comment was completely out of line, especially in that it could have been sent via private note in ANY article, not one that is totally unrelated and where that public censure by someone who has no authority to doll it out cannot be removed from your article and will continue to be a public reminder of what others deem poor behavior.

I just recently posted a comment on an article in which I disagreed with the author and respectfully noted some hypocrisy. I almost didn’t out of fear of what would happen next. No one should fear disagreeing with someone. I will not stand for it. You shouldn’t either.
