Great article! This is where age gets to work in my favor. Being a middle-aged woman who is twice divorced, using the term boyfriend makes me giggle like I’m 15. With everything I’ve been through in my life, getting the chance to giggle at a title is a joy that is so simple and so cherished to me. My boyfriend was married for 22 years. It’s such a beautiful thing for us to feel like we’re kids.

But, I have completely been where you are. You’re at a point where you’ve moved away from the desire to feel juvenile. I absolutely get that and respect that. Everybody needs to find a term of endearment that is meaningful to both people in the relationship!
