First, thank you for taking the time to write a well crafted and well thought out response. It’s very appreciated. The reality is that it’s NOT a “very select few.” Did you know that 1 in 6 women has been a victim of rape or attempted rape. Let that sink in. And that’s just rape. The commercial doesn’t just talk about rape. It goes into gender discrimination in the work place, potentially damaging male posturing, street harassment and bullying. When you add this all up, it’s not the few. BUT. What the commercial also did, which seems to be missed, is celebrate the good guy. That matters.
