Exactly. The apartments I scope as statistical for my article are not where I want to live. At all. There is nothing wrong with them but it’s like suggesting I move to Ohio so I can live easier. I want to be near city center, in a blue district as I hold a small volunteer position with the Democratic party, and I want to use my car as little as possible. City center apartments are $1900 for a 1 bedroom.

Oddly, I two-bedroom I like here is $2200. If I moved to Southern Cali to be close to my sister, a two-bedroom where I can walk to the beach is $2400.
